The forest atop Mount Madonna feels nothing short of magical. A friend commented, that “it’s a place to look for fairies!” It was almost unreal to be standing in the middle of a circle of impossibly tall trees.

I think that San Carlos Borroméo de Carmelo Mission is one of the most beautiful of the California missions. The grounds are lovely, with countless fruit trees, flower varieties, and even cacti and other succulents. The Carmel Mission Church altar (pictured below) is very impressive.
