The forest atop Mount Madonna feels nothing short of magical. A friend commented, that “it’s a place to look for fairies!”

It was almost unreal to be standing in the middle of a circle of impossibly tall trees.

I think that San Carlos Borroméo de Carmelo Mission is one of the most beautiful of the California missions. The grounds are lovely, with countless fruit trees, flower varieties, and even cacti and other succulents. The Carmel Mission Church altar (pictured below) is very impressive.

I found this card featuring the Blessed Virgin Mary floating in one of the fountains in the courtyard. It is one of my favorite photos I’ve taken at the Carmel Mission.

I couldn’t find the key that I wanted to photograph for today’s #refadayfeb post, so I dug into the archives. I can’t believe in all the years I’ve been taking pictures, I’ve never once photographed a key. I did take lots of pictures of locks however, so I guess this will have to suffice! I found this lock on the former Fort Ord.

We had breakfast today at Vineyard Bistro, located in beautiful Carmel Valley Village. This was my breakfast: Eggs Benedict, Red Potatoes, Fresh Fruit (with pears!), a Mimosa, and lots of Coffee. Really good food, with the best service around – I don’t know why we waited so long to try this place.
